Transfer capability is the newest feature offered in the My Beach Mobile app; if you can’t find an answer to your question here, email us! This feature is patent-pending.
Do all beaches offer digital pass transfers?
No, transfer capability is determined by each individual beach. If your preferred beach does not support digital pass transfers, we recommend purchasing passes on separate devices rather than buying multiple passes on one device. Beaches without transfer capability are clearly indicated in the app on the beach selection screen.
Can I transfer my pass more than once?
This depends on the beach.
Some beaches allow temporary transfers, where the purchaser selects a transfer period. When the transfer period ends, the pass automatically returns to the purchaser and may be used or transferred again.
Other beaches allow one-time transfers only. For these beaches, seasonal and weekly passes are transferred for the remaining duration of the pass, and the transfer is permanent.
The transfer type for each beach is clearly indicated in the app on the beach selection screen.
Can I access my pass during the transfer period?
No, transferred passes are unavailable to the purchaser during the transfer period. Only the recipient can access the pass until the transfer period expires.
How does the transfer feature work?
Passes can be transferred by tapping the transfer icon in the top right corner of the pass. The purchaser selects the passes for transfer and enters the recipient’s email address. To transfer passes to multiple recipients, passes must be transferred one at a time. The recipient will receive an email notification, confirming the transfer. If the recipient already has a My Beach Mobile account, the pass will be available to them within the app during the transfer period. If the recipient does not have an account, they will be prompted to download the app and create an account to access the pass. Passes are only transferable by the purchaser. Recipients cannot further transfer passes.
Can physical passes be transferred in the app?
Users who purchase physical passes in the app receive a receipt that needs to be activated at pick up; if your beach opts in for receipt transfers, that receipt can be transferred to someone other than the purchaser to pick up the passes in person. Remember - don’t activate your receipt until you’re instructed to do so!
Can I transfer a pass as a gift?
Yes, you can buy a pass, and transfer it to the recipient for an entire week or season at any point after the pass is purchased.
Is there a minimum transfer period?
Yes. For beaches that allow temporary transfers, the minimum transfer period for seasonal and weekly passes is two days. For example, if you transfer a pass starting on Monday, the earliest it will return to you is Wednesday. This minimum period is a fraud-prevention measure.
For beaches that allow permanent transfers, the pass is transferred for the remaining duration of the pass and does not return to the original purchaser.
